The Cottagers Start Strong to Beat Tottenham and Raise Tension on Frank
Spurs supporters who booed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario were told afterwards "they cannot be real Tottenham fans" by manager Frank.
Tottenham conceded a pair of goals in the opening six minutes to fall 2-1 to Fulham, marking their 10th top-flight at home defeat of the year.
But the primary topic of discussion was the visitors' next score when Vicario gave away the ball well beyond his area.
The goalkeeper ventured out to handle a long ball and carried the ball towards the sideline.
But, rather than kicking it into touch, the Italian spun and tried to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball skimmed off Harry Wilson and was controlled by King.
The forward laid the ball off to Welsh midfield player Wilson, who curled a shot into the goal from the touchline measured at thirty-six point six metres.
Moments afterwards when the ball went to Vicario once more, some Tottenham fans booed him.
Spurs were booed off at half-time, with the side 2-0 down, and again at the final whistle.
A particular of those booing episodes truly angered the manager.
"I heard some of our fans apparently booed the incident and jeered after, which, in my opinion is completely unacceptable," the Dane commented regarding the supporters' reaction to his shot-stopper.
"Those individuals cannot be real Spurs fans that do that. Alright jeering after the match, no problem, but when we are playing, we are backing one another, we are with each other going forward."
Kenny Tete had given the visitors a early advantage prior to Harry Wilson's goal â with Kudus scoring for Spurs in an improved second-half performance.
Ex- top-flight goalkeeper Hart stated that the next goal was "totally preventable".
"I do appreciate the fans' frustration," the ex-keeper continued. "I know the role Vicario is performing. He's a great team player, he's a real figure in the locker room but in the end you are going to be judged by your actions.
"He was deeply involved in what turned out to be the decisive score."
Thomas Frank Stood Up For His Goalkeeper Vicario Following the Game
Italian national team Vicario is in his 3rd season with Spurs.
He stated following the match that he had to take the criticism.
"The second goal was a error of my own, I take accountability for that," he commented.
"The intent was to clear the ball long and I simply struck the ball in a bad manner. That made an even bigger mountain to climb."
He said being booed "comes with football".
"I'm a big man, what can I say?" he continued. "The team cannot be affected by the circumstances in the crowd. Supporters have the right to do what they think.
"It's on the team to remain increasingly composed, to focus on ourselves. The team is missing in calmness and poise to overturn outcomes. Today is a poor defeat and it's tough to take."
In spite of Vicario's mistake, it was not an easy score for Harry Wilson to score.
In fact it was the next most distant top division score of the campaign â following Tyler Adams' 43.3 metre strike for Bournemouth against Sunderland, which interestingly also occurred on Saturday.
The goalscorer said he was "somewhat taken aback" that he still had an empty goal to aim for.
Ten seconds passed between Vicario coming out of his box and the midfielder striking â which was 5 seconds following the clearance.
"I felt like the goalkeeper was away from the area for a long time," Wilson said.
"I was surprised not one of the defenders went back to the goal line. When not one of them defended the goal, my interest sparked somewhat.
"Udogie fell as well, which allowed me a bit of additional time. Then it was all about trying to achieve the right connection and get it towards goal. I felt a good sense, the moment it came off my boot, that it was heading in."
Booing While We Are Still in Play Is Completely Unacceptable - Frank
While Vicario's mistake dominated headlines, this was an all-round poor day for Spurs to continue their home ground struggles.
The match was their tenth home defeat of 2025 in the Premier League, a joint club statistic along with 1994 and two thousand and three.
The side still have home fixtures against Frank's former club the Bees and title holders Liverpool to play prior to the end of the season.
Just a single of those wins have come after Frank took over from Ange Postecoglou in the summer.
"When you're behind 2-0 after six minutes, there is a mountain to climb," stated Frank.
"During in a poor run, all aspects appears to work against you as well â the opening was a deflected shot, the next is a mistake from the keeper.
"The outcome puts us in a place where we have suffered another game. Each fixture has a single story, today we were defeated in the first six minutes.
"We just need to keep working. The later period was much better and with luck something we can use to develop."
Tottenham have been defeated in four consecutive home London derbies for the initial time in the Premier League.
Furthermore they are averaging 9.5 shots and three point two efforts on goal per match in the Premier League â their lowest averages on record in a one season (since at least the 2003-04 season).
Former Fulham midfielder Murphy commented that the manager has to ride the storm.
"He's got accept the stick," Murphy remarked. "He has accepted a prestigious job at a huge team with massive anticipation. There is scrutiny and duty that comes with that.
"Their showings at their stadium have been poor and they have to improve {quickly|
