Kudus also created the first goal for Mathys Tel, who notched his first of the campaign, but Noah Okafor drew things level for Leeds before Kudus's strike settled the match.

"I'm delighted for Mo to score and it was long overdue, and It's fantastic for Mathys as well," said the Spurs boss. "The resilience he has exhibited as a young player from day one has really impressed me after the disappointment of not being the European roster. He trains well and was focused today."

Victory lifted Tottenham up to second place before the completion of Saturday's other Premier League matches, after they began the day in fifth and extended their positive run under the head coach, this being their fourth triumph under Frank.

Team Transformation

Spurs may have struggled in such a match last season, when they suffered their poorest league season, resulting in a managerial change. The North London club have secured victory in three of their opening four away Premier League games this campaign, which is equal to in their concluding away fixtures of last season under the Australian.

"I'm thrilled with the win," the manager continued. "To build to create any winning side, you need mentality, personality, cohesion and togetherness whether you emulate Inter or Barcelona. Regardless of the style of play, you need that readiness to do everything to win and I think we're developing that increasingly in the team."

Positive Beginning

We created two goals and several clear chances, so of course I'm pleased with the opening we've made," the manager noted. "Fourteen points in seven games – representing two points per game – is impressive and I'm particularly pleased that in away games we have won three and earned one draw. It's a positive beginning, but we need to continue."

Opposition View

Leeds manager, the German tactician, seemed dejected as his side suffered a home defeat in the league for the initial occasion in since last season. But the manager also found encouragement, given that Tottenham were forced to defend at the conclusion with Guglielmo Vicario's fine save denying Joël Piroe a stoppage-time equaliser.

"We must take our chances and hope the shot-stopper is not the star performer, but we ought to have hit the target with several opportunities," Farke said. "However, we played one of the league's best teams and were the superior team. That's promising and I'm proud of how we've developed."

Elland Road faithful were angry at referee Thomas Bramall's officiating, but the manager stated: "I need to be a reserved, I don't like to discuss officiating. I leave it with others to discuss the referee, I focus on what I can influence."
