Man That Touched Ariana Grande during Movie Premiere Barred from Singapore

An individual of Australian nationality that leaped past a barrier and reached for celebrity Ariana Grande has been sent away and barred from Singapore.

The man, 26, was handed a penalty to over a week in prison for being a public nuisance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority told local media.

Wen pushed through camera crews and rushed toward the actress and singer, who was attending the Asian debut for Wicked: For Good on 13 November. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

The individual has a record of disrupting concerts and star-studded occasions, including jumping on stage at the pop star's Australian show in June this year.

The occurrence provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many saying he of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has mentioned dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her concert in the UK city in spring of 2017 killed 22 people and injured hundreds.

During Wen's trial, the authorities learned he had attempted to intrude on the red carpet event multiple times, according to local news sources.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Event security intercepted him and held him in place.

Wen later posted recordings appreciating the celebrity for letting him on the carpet and said he was "free."

Police detained him the next day and brought charges against him with public nuisance, to which the man admitted guilt.

The District Judge Christopher Goh was cited by a news outlet as saying that he was looking for publicity, commenting that he was mistaken to think he would not face any penalties.

Grande has not spoken about the incident.

Cynthia Erivo spoke about the incident to a media outlet, stating that she "only aimed to ensure my friend was protected."

"I believe he didn't intend us injury, but you never know with these incidents, and I sought to confirm that she was alright. That was my initial reaction," she commented.
